EXPRESS ENTRY & PNP FOR IMMIGRATION TO CANADA
APPLICATION FOR EXPRESS ENTRY & PNP PERMANENT RESIDENCE
The major immigration mechanism established by the Canadian Federal Government is the Express Entry mechanism. It consists of three immigration schemes intended to provide skilled immigrants from abroad permanent residence.
What does Canada Immigration’s Express Entry mean?
With the goal of reducing turnaround times and streamlining the immigration process digitally, the Express Entry program was launched in 2015. An online application management system created by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is used during the whole application process. Applications begin to flow in a systematic queue as they enter the pool, and those who are found to be eligible and successful will then receive an invitation to apply. Once accepted, the contents of the expertly created immigration file are sent to the Canadian immigration authorities via the Express Entry program’s quick and efficient online portal. The Confirmation of Permanent Residence, or COPR, and a single-entry PR visa for travel to Canada are given to all successful applicants.
In Canada Immigration, what is PNP?
The provinces and territories have the authority to bring in some applicants in addition to the standard immigration programs run by the federal government, based on their needs and requirements. The Provincial Nominee Program, or PNP, is where a candidate expresses their intention to settle in a specific province and receives a nomination letter. The candidate’s express admission profile gives this PNP letter an extra 600 points of weight.
Who is eligible to apply using Canada’s Express Entry system?
Candidates can apply through the Express Entry stream for Canada immigration if they fall under at least one of the three federal program categories indicated below.
Even while certain applicants for Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are processed through Express Entry, they still need to be qualified for at least one of the three federal programs in order to be considered for the applicant pool.
Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSW Program)
The Express Entry stream for Canada Immigration’s main program is the FSWP. Its goal is to increase the number of skilled workers who come to Canada and contribute to its booming economy. A minimum of one (1) year of continuous full-time employment, or an equivalent amount of work experience, is required to be eligible for this program in the last ten (10) years. Along with being paid, the experience must be in one of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) skill levels 0, A, or B and be in a skilled occupation. The ability to communicate in either English or French, having completed at least secondary school, and having an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report are other fundamental qualifying requirements.
Federal Skilled Trades Class (FST Program)
FSTP is the route for applicants who wish to immigrate permanently and who meet the requirements of a skilled trade. A minimum of two (2) years of paid, full-time job experience, or an equivalent, in the NOC skill type ‘B’ is required to be eligible for this program. The experience must have been acquired within the last five years in order to be considered for the position. Other conditions include having a legitimate offer of full-time employment for at least a year or possessing a Canadian-issued certificate of qualification in the claimed skilled trade.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
The CEC is a program created for foreign workers and international students in Canada. Candidates falling into one of these two categories may be able to apply for permanent residence if they have at least one year of professional, skilled, or technical job experience in Canada gained during the last three years prior to the application date. There are still other standards for educational background and language ability.
What criteria are there for eligibility under Canada’s Express Entry system?
The Express Entry program’s eligibility is essentially based on five (5) elements.
Other criteria for selection include
Concept of CRS Points in Canada Immigration through Express Entry
After a candidate’s profile is produced in the pool of candidates, the system assesses it and assigns points based on a number of eligibility criteria. These points count toward the CRS score, or Comprehensive Ranking System score. According to the CRS Score each applicant profile received, all candidate profiles in the expedited entry pool are ranked. By enhancing the eligibility criteria, such as raising the language proficiency level, it is feasible to raise the score.
Canadian Express Entry Draw migration policy
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, sometimes known as the IRCC, occasionally announces a cut-off score for the Express Entry draw. This is based on a predetermined intake quota and the number of applicants who scored higher than the qualifying mark. All candidates who scored higher than the minimum score are encouraged to apply for Canadian Permanent Resident status. This step is also referred to as getting an ITA.
How long does it take to complete the Express Entry Canada procedure?
Based on the number of applications that are currently awaiting processing and how quickly 80% of them can be handled, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) calculates processing timelines. Currently, an Express Entry application takes six months on average to be processed.
How much does a comprehensive Express Entry application cost?
Costs incurred during the file preparation phase, prior to submitting the Express Entry profile:
after obtaining the Invitation to Apply (ITA), any additional fees imposed by the government.
Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) vs. Express Entry
You might think of the Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) as an extra route to Canada Immigration’s Express Entry Stream. In total, the three (3) EE paths that were previously outlined are managed by the federal government of Canada. In addition, the Provinces and Territories are given the authority to admit a specific number of candidates in accordance with their individual economic requirements and preferences.
To obtain a PNP, a candidate must either demonstrate their intention to settle in the province of choice or apply specifically to that province using the express entry profile. Separate applications improve chances and target the nomination more specifically. A candidate receives 600 points in addition to their CRS score after a successful PNP nomination. Typically, this score is enough to receive an ITA, or invitation to apply. After receiving the PNP and later the Canada PR status, the individual must intend to settle in the province. There are no significant differences after acquiring the Canadian PR status, except from the application process and the settling phase. Candidates are granted the same privileges and advantages as Canadian Permanent Residents.
